(Update) Police Arrest Man Seen Beating Two Women In Viral Video After Crashing Into Their Car

On Saturday, a Dallas-based entrepreneur tapped into her social media in search of a man who assaulted her and a female friend. Shaudae McMillan prefaced the short clip of the attack by describing what happened. She described a minor crash that turned violent while attempting to exchange insurance information. The assault video quickly went viral as folks hoped to help the two women. According to NBC5 DFW, an anonymous tip led to the identification and arrest of 25-year-old Jaleel Sheehy on Tuesday.

Victim Says Minor Crash Turned Violent During Information Exchange

Shaudae described a minor car accident with Jaleel in her now-deleted post about the incident. She alleged that he side-swiped her car on a Dallas freeway at about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday. Shaudae told The Shade Room she was driving home after an event while accompanied by a female friend.

After the minor collision, Jaleel and Shaudae pulled their vehicles over. Shaudae’s goal was to exchange insurance information, but she says Jaleel;’s attitude was on ten from when he hopped out of his car. He allegedly yelled, “b***h, you hit my car,” when he exited his vehicle.

“He kept going off while I was trying to get information from him. I told my friend to call the police for assistance and that’s when he started hitting me,” Shaudae told The Shade Room via written text.

The viral video shows Jaleel punching Shaudae until she fell to the ground. He then seemingly began walking towards his vehicle but turned around and punched Shaudae’s friend as well–knocking the phone to the road. Though the video doesn’t show the whole attack on the friend, it does show her nose leaking blood as she picked it up. When the video went viral, the friend chose not to be identified due to “fear of retaliation.”

In the arrest warrant affidavit obtained by NBC5 DFW, both women said the man only stopped attacking them after his female passenger exited his vehicle and asked him to stop. After they drove off, the women left the highway and reported the attack. Police say both women refused medical treatment at the time.

Attacker Arrested On AssaultPosts Bond

Police took Jaleel into custody on an arrest warrant for misdemeanor assault. Officials later charged him with two counts of assault. Police booked him at Dallas County Jail. However, he was freed after posting a $3,000 bond. It’s unclear if the female passenger traveling with him will face charges.
