Usher has turned his cherry serenade into a whole moment that everybodys waiting for at his shows, and Sabrina Carpenter was READY for it. The ‘Espresso’ pop star got real cozy at the Met Gala when Usher hand-fed her a cherry during his performance. However, her dad, David, was NOT here for it when the pics hit the internet. Sabrina shared her dads reaction online, prompting Usher to respond. Here’s what happened…
On Wednesday, May 7, Sabrina dropped a carousel of Met Gala pics on her Instagram, slaying in a custom Louis Vuitton bodysuit from two days prior. But the real gag was the last slide, which showed a screenshot of a text from her father with a pic of Usher feeding Sabrina that cherry. In his text to his daughter, David wrote, ? Weird.
The snap in question sees Sabrinas mouth open, ready for Usher to drop the cherry mid-performance. Sis was clearly vibing with what’s become Ushers signature move. The same couldn’t be said for her dad, though. Usher later slid into the comments of Sabrinas IG post with a smooth, Apologies Mr. Carpenter,” alongside an emoji with a drop of sweat and the cherries emoji.
Fans in Sabrinas comments were shook over Davids not-so-pleased message. Check out what they had to say below
@justralphy wrote, ?Weird should be the next album name

Usher must be working overtime, yall. Fresh off the Met Gala, he jetted to London for his final show at the O2 Arena on Tuesday, May 6. The R&B veteran had the crowd all the way turned up when he brought out Eve as his surprise guest. And the Philly native, who actually resides in the UK now, hit the stage for ‘Whos That Girl?’ and had the fans screaming. Eves husband, Maximillion Cooper, caught the special moment on video and posted it on IG, captioning it, Mrs. Cooper making an ENTRANCE So sweet.
