‘Verzuz’ Announces That They Will Go Back To Hosting Battles In Separate Locations & Says The Ashanti & Keyshia Cole Battle Is ‘Coming Soon’

It looks like the new turnt up format of the Verzuz battles will have to be paused for a moment, and will have to go back to being hosted from two separate locations.

As you all know, last month, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole were scheduled to face off in a highly anticipated battle. However, the battle was postponed due to Ashanti, unfortunately, contracting COVID-19. Nonetheless, the battle was given a new date of January 9th.

Fast-forward to January 8th, Verzuz has announced that the Ashanti and Keyshia Cole battle is “coming soon,” and that they will go back to hosting battles in two separate locations.

In a statement posted to the official Verzuz account, it reads, “This has been an emotional week. In addition, as COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, safety is a top priority for us. As much as we enjoy having everyone together in the same room, to protect the artists and everyone who works with us in putting shows together, we’ll be going back to separate locations for a bit. We’re excited for the next few events, and look forward to getting back to the show in the coming weeks.”

The statement ended with, “Ashanti vs Keyshia Cole: Coming Soon.”

There was no further explanation behind why Ashanti and Keyshia Cole’s battle has been moved to “coming soon,” after being postponed previously.

After their original battle was pushed back, Too Short and E-40 put on for their Bay area during their battle, which consisted of a full production.
