WATCH: Congrats! Chad Ochocinco Johnson Gets Engaged To ‘Selling Tampa’ Star Sharelle Rosado

Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson is getting married! The former NFL player dropped to one knee and asked his girlfriend, Sharelle Rosado, to marry him on Saturday (Jan. 7).

Rosado gave him an emotional “yes,” followed by an embrace. She later told PEOPLE that this is “the next step of [their] beautiful journey together.”

And Ochocinco, who proposed in Miami, made sure about 20 friends and family members witnessed the moment.

Sharelle seemed to think Chad was kidding at first–given his usual goofball antics. But Johnson wasn’t. But to get her to the venue, he reportedly told her it was an early celebration of his 45th birthday, which he brought in today (Jan. 9). He pulled out the box with light illuminating the ring, and Sharelle let the joyful tears flow! Per PEOPLE,he slid an oval cut, 7.5-carat engagement ring on Sharelle’s left hand.

“I’m honestly shocked, I’m at a loss for words. This was absolutely beautiful, and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love, that really did it for me,” Sharelle told PEOPLE.

Their engagement comes over a year after they welcomed their first child and daughter together, Serenity, on January 2, 2022.

Serenity was Sharelle’s fourth and Ochocinco’s eighth.
