Here’s What Happened With Lil Jon

On Friday, March 15, a Muslim photographer named Rahim Siddiq took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share footage that featured Lil Jon. The clip was tagged with the King Fahad Mosque. Additionally, Siddiq’s post featured a few words:

“Lil Jon (@LilJon) just accepted islam at king Fahad mosque in LA before jummah prayer. Welcome to Islam brother!…”

In the clip, Lil Jon pledged his “obedience” and made his declaration of faith in the religion, first speaking in Arabic and then English.

“I testify that there is no one worthy of worship, except Allah,” the rapper said in the clip. “Alone. Without partner. And I testify that Mohammad is his servant and final messenger.”

Lil Jon’s commitment to Islam arrives at a significant time. According to the Almanac, Ramadan, a holy month celebrated by Muslims, began on March 10. The event involves followers of the faith participating in a fast until the sacred month concludes on April 9.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Lil Jon made headlines last month when he confirmed Justin Bieber declined to participate in Usher’s Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance.

“…I think Justin just wasnt really ready. Thats a lot of rehearsal, a lot of responsibility, a lot of time, and a lot of eyeballs. I dont know if he was ready to do all of that, you know?” he explained during an interview with TMZ.

Around the same time, the rapper also surprised fans. At the time, he released a full meditation album, which featured a stark contrast from his typical catalog of crunk music, per Rolling Out.

At this time, Lil Jon has yet to speak on his decision to follow Islam publicly. Laughing Place reports that he’s scheduled to appear on The ‘Tamron Hall Show’ on March 19.

Perhaps he’ll discuss his recent life update there.
