Ahead of the highly anticipated project, Morris Chestnut and Terrence Howard stepped into The Shade Room to teaseThe Best Man: The Final Chapters!
The miniseries is the third installment in thefranchise, which began back in 1999 withThe Best Man. Aside from Morris and Terrence, other noteworthy stars include Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, and Regina Hall.
In 2013, the film’s sequel,The Best Man Holiday, debuted.
While discussing the project, Morris coyly addressed how his characterLance Sullivan”recovered” from the past hardship of losing Mia Morgan (played by Monica Calhoun) inThe Best Man Holiday.
“When this series opens up, Lance is coping with the loss of Mia in a very unique way.”
He then teased that Lance goes through “another challenge” later in the series.
“A few episodes down the line, he’s gonna be hit with another challenge that also tests his faith and his beliefs.”
Segueing over to Terrence Howard, he took the opportunity to address how his character, Quentin Spivey, has “developed” since we last saw him on the silver screen.
“I don’t know if he’s changed at all. I think reality has struck in. He’s watched his father, who was a very powerful man that did everything his own way, and he’s watched him become less sufficient to take care of himself, the business, and you see your own mortality in that. That’s a big thing for Quentin.”
He also addressed that Quentin has “a lot to deal with,” as he has a new child. Additionally, Terrence shared that the characters have to live through the COVID-19 pandemic as well.
You can peep the actors’ comments down below.

“This is the end for me. I dont know if its the end for the rest of them. But for me, you know, I retired two years ago, for the most part. I was done. And its been finishing off the little things.”
Terrence went on to add that he’s “enjoying watching other new talent come around.” So, after years of being a star, he’s ready to kick back and cheer on the new generation of thespians.
“There’s some better actors out there that can do things that I was never able to do. So, I want toapplaud them, I want to be excited about what theyre doing.”
