Yandy Confronts Mendeecees About Taking Off His Wedding Ring

Though the clip dropped last week, it is now circulating. The video shows Yandy Smith telling two therapists that Mendeecees has not been wearing his ring while they’ve been “going through it.”

“I feel like once we get to a place where respect is restored, then we can wear the ring,” Mendeecees said before explaining himself at request. “My concept of wearing a ring is is people together, as one. I’m trying to get there.”

Smith followed up by asking whether he was referring to the “together or one part” regarding their marriage. Mendeecess responded “both” to Yandy, who appeared surprised before the clip cut off. Watch it below.

Social Media Reacts

Yandy and Mendeecees got their reality TV start with ‘Love & Hip Hop New York’ in 2011. He proposed in 2014 but later went to prison in 2015. In recent years, fans learned the couple had not been legally married, despite marrying in 2015 in a wedding special.

They renewed their vows in May 2021, but their relationship has been a constant topic on social media over the years. Now, the short clip about their wedding ring is creating renewed buzz.

The roommates let their thoughts fly in The Shade Room’s comment section, weighing in from different angles.

@indeskribeabull wrote, “Just dont say nothing when I take mine off too. One band, one sound.”

Meanwhile, @allthingslundye added, “Yet she wore hers the whole time he was incarcerated, if men don’t have anything they have audacity.”

@sioworld1975 went IN on the topic, leaving a whole breakdown of Yandy and Mendeecees’ alleged patterns in the marriage.

“Come on ladies let be real. Yandy is doing yandy and not taking no advice from her husband. She feels she wear the pants and whatever she says her husband have to agree with it. Her husband feels like he dont have any voice and is all by himself cause his wife wouldnt listen to him. So he is right remove that ring. We cant be dragging this man when he is hurting that just not right. Yandy have to understand she isnt in a marriage by herself. A marriage consist of two people and the life of a marriage is husband being the head of his household. Not saying he have to control her but he should have input in decision making when it comes to his family and Yandy isnt allowing her husband to be the head of his household. I am all for removing the damn ring,” @sioworld1975 wrote.

@real.estate.diva.sandiego offered advise, “Yandy, he doesnt want to be married to you anymore and he stays out of obligation because you held him down while he was locked up. I understand you think youre in a winning position over his other BMs because youre the wife but baybee, let the pride, ego and him go. Go find someone else that wants to be with you.”

The couple has not further addressed the topic on social media.
