It looks like Wendy Osefo and her husband Eddie Osefo are taking different legal paths in the courtroombut the drama is far from over. The ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star and her attorney husband recently made an appearance in Marylands Carroll County Circuit Court. Now, fans are already buzzing about what this next chapter in their ongoing fraud saga could mean.
On Wednesday, March 4, Wendy and Eddie appeared for a pretrial hearing where both reportedly waived their right to a speedy trial under the Hicks Rule, which normally requires a trial within 180 days of a first court appearance. Podcast host Taria Shondell Faison, who was reportedly present in the courtroom, later claimed on social media that the couple will now be tried separately. Additionally, each trial is expected to last roughly four days, plus one day for the defense. Court records also show that no pleas were entered during the hearing, and a status update for both cases has been scheduled for May 20.
Fans didnt waste any time running to The Shade Room Instagram comment section to share their hot takes. Some predicted exactly where this is going, saying Eddie will likely take the fall. Both were released on $50,000 bond following their arrests and continue to maintain their innocence, despite the mounting allegations. With separate trials now on the horizon, fans of the reality star and her husband are watching closely to see how this legal saga unfolds.
As previously reported, the charges against Wendy and Eddie stem from an October 9, 2025, arrest at their Westminster, Maryland, home over allegedly fraudulent insurance claims. Authorities said the couple reported a burglary in April 2024 while they were vacationing in Jamaica. Furthermore, they claimed luxury items, including designer handbags and jewelry, had been stolen. Prosecutors later pointed to inconsistencies in the claims, including surveillance showing no break-in and some items reportedly stolen being returned or later found in the couples possession.
