Roommates, the tea was certainly piping hot today on the Wendy Show, but what came as a shock to many was the announcement of her shutting down ‘The Hunter Foundation’.
Wendy recently launched the substance abuse charity with her estranged husband Kevin Hunter, and since they’re splitting, the charity has got to go too. Wendy released the official statement on her show Wednesday.
“Wendy Williams has been and remains committed to helping others in the struggles of life,” the statement read. “While accepting her new reality, many things in her life have changed including the dissolution of ‘The Hunter foundation'”.
Wendy added that she will continue giving back to the community and staying true to her giving spirit through other foundations that have not been named.
The call center was created right after Wendy announced she was struggling with drug abuse, and had been staying in a sober living facility. As we previously reported, the foundation consisted of a call center, where those also struggling with addiction could call for help and information.
Sources close to the situation told The Blast that Kevin Hunter is concerned about the dissolution leaving people without jobs. Kevin reportedly says many of the people employed at the call center are recovering addicts themselves.
Although Wendy made the announcement today, the foundation is still currently taking calls and employees had reportedly been made aware of the foundation ending prior to the announcement.
We wish Wendy well in all that she is planning to do with her new life!
