Wendy Williams has been spotted out in the streets of NYC, and she appears to be in good spirits! The former talk show queen was seen popping out in a viral social media clip this week, serving a whole look amid her ongoing court battle involving her guardianship. Despite whats going on in her personal life, including a recent lawsuit filed by her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, Wendy was all smiles, proving she hasnt lost her spark. Heres what happened
On July 2, Wendy had the NYC streets on lock, caught on camera by Instagrams SpeakYourFit, whose content focuses on popping up on strangers and asking them about their drip. Wendy was mid-chat when SYF rolled up, and, whew, Wendy left the house stepping, oh-kay! She rocked black pants, a floral blouse, a NY Yankees cap, and a Croc Birkin bag that screamed bougie.
At first, Wendy seemed startled by the intrusion amid her conversation, saying, Whos this with a camera? But she became relaxed once he explained he was just trying to know more about her fit. Shortly after, he asked, What would you tell your younger self? The mom of one responded, Stay true to what you wear. But Wendy couldnt help drifting off topic to talk about her love for food. Now, Wendys ex, Kevin Hunter, reportedly filed a $250 million lawsuit on June 17 in NYC federal court. His lawsuit named 48 people, including Wendys guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and Wells Fargo. As previously reported, Kevins claiming Wendys been abused, neglected, and defrauded under her guardianship, which kicked off in 2022 after Wells Fargo froze her accounts over suspicious activity.
Hes saying Wendy, whos dealing with Graves disease, frontotemporal dementia, and aphasia, is sharp as ever, pointing to a competency test in March, which she aced. Kevins even mad about Wendys rescue cats, Chit Chat and My Way, allegedly being sold without her OK. He wants her out of this involuntary confinement, a new guardian, and a big sum for damages and lost earnings.
But on June 19, Wendy spoke to TMZ, shutting down the chatter about her ex-husbands lawsuit real quick. According to the publication, she had no idea Kevin had mentioned her in the filing of his lawsuit, saying she had zero involvement and didnt even know it was being filed. Calling him a money-grubber, Wendy threw shade, hinting hes chasing her money.
While she and Kevin arent on the same page as far as his lawsuit is concerned, Wendys been loud about wanting out of her guardianship, which she calls a prison. She previously told The View and The Breakfast Club shes mentally on point and ready to run her own life again.
