Freaknik 2.0 Reportedly Cancelled To Honor Black Lives Matter

Oop! Just when everybody was ready to turn up like it was the 1990s all over again, the relaunch of Freaknik has been cancelled!

According to AJC, the owner of the venue where the rump shaking theme party was supposed to take place pulled the plug in the name of the Black Lives Matter movement.

“In light of the year that black lives matter, we don’t think Freaknik does,” Terry Brantley, owner of the Atrium events venue, told the AJC.

This would put a real damper on Danny Hefner’s, the man behind the party relaunch, plans as he says he was expecting “thousands of people from all over the country.”

Funny thing is when AJC reached out to him, Hefner seemed pretty caught off guard about the news.

“Really,” Hefner said in surprise about the cancellation. “Let me call you back.”

Yikes. Apparently, Bradley doesn’t want to shift the focus from the social issues that actually matter and doesnt seemed too bothered by the potential disappointment he has caused.

“It’s just another pool party at the Atrium,” he said.

Welp there you have it. Do you think Freaknik should still be on or is Bradley actually on to something? Let’s chat below!
