TSR Politics: What Life Would Be Like If Donald Trump Was President

It’s January 2017 and Trump is officially our president.
I really wish I could see my dad. He’s been gone for four months to the west coast. We live in Philadelphia but my dad and older brothers were ordered to relocate to California to build those damn walls Donald kept talking about. Poor babies–they spend 14 hours out of the day working on this wall so Donald can keep the foreigners out. Too bad American hasn’t been the same without them.

Anyway,  it’s days like today I regret not voting. “Don’t vote,” they said; “it won’t matter,” they said. Now look at me. What did I think was going to happen anyway? Donald Trump didn’t even bother to produce any socio-economic substantive policy proposals that would have been in my favor anyway. I’m Black and we all know how The Trump feels about black people. When did I think he would have the time to make good on his promises with us? I told my homeboys he was talking that bullsh-t when he got on CNN back in 2016 talking about, “What do African-Americans have to lose?” How about patience, Donald? In all actuality, we really would’ve had a lot to lose had we did what our ancestors did years ago and stuck together.

Ayo, who remembers the Black Lives Matters movement? I bet the leaders they couldn’t capture are over in Cuba enjoying tea with Ms. Assata Shakur right now! That’s so dope!

Girls’ nails have been busted lately and lets not talk about this hair tragedy. There isn’t a nail salon or hair supply store within miles of the city anymore. As a matter of fact, I miss Anna Nguyen! We met during our sophomore year at PITT—her parents came to the states in 2005 to start this really dope Technology Company. Guess where they are now – back in Vietnam because The Trump couldn’t stand them making money in “his” country. But the gag is he’s not even from America himself. When does someone get to send him home for making American money??!

Speaking of people I miss, its days like today, the five-year anniversary of my cousin Fatima’s death that I blame myself for Donald Trump’s takeover. She was a martyr for Muslim civil rights in America—she wasn’t here for the military bussing Muslims to those concentration camps out in Idaho. I even blame myself for not holding it down for her in 2020—Kanye would have been a lit ass president. I can most definitely see him making sense of this tax break stuff seeing as how he knows the struggle. Sure he’s a millionaire and although the bill was passed to reduce income taxes for all Americans even the richest people, I believe Kanye still has a heart under all that ego of his. He’s probably on the phone with Sway right now asking how!

I don’t understand how these people let Trump back in the Whitehouse for another four years! Is it just me or does it seem that we’ve reached the new, new Jim Crow messing with this Donald Trump character?

Well…I gotta head to the cemetery to drop off these flowers for Fatima. Catch y’all later.

XO, Chloe
