Dave Chappelle Put The Jokes Aside For A Local Town Hall Meeting

Dave Chappelle took time out of his busy schedule to speak at a city council meeting in Yellow Springs, Ohio. He spoke about his experiences with police, and the need to choose a good reliable police chief.

“I would beseech the council to look deeply and to look hard, because this is a golden opportunity,” said Chappelle, who lives in the town. “Literally you could kill the game. In this Trump era, there’s an opportunity to show everybody that local politics reigns supreme. We can make our corner of the world outstanding.”

According to CNN, the last police chief, Dave Hale, quit back in January after attempts to clear out a New Years Party created chaos for many local residents. Apparently, one of the officers fired a taser at one of the partygoers and missed, raising concerns amongst the residents that someone else could have been hit.

Dave admits that the police have done a good job of protecting him, but the New Year’s Eve incident is just something he can’t let go off.

“Now we’re being policed by what seems like an alien force,” said Chappelle, who had been out celebrating with his family that night, but left prior to the incident. “Huge gaffe on New Year’s Eve.”
