Caleb Green’s love for reading was shared with thousands of people over the weekend, as he reached his goal of reading 100 books in one day.
According to ABC News, Caleb started his reading marathon on Saturday with hopes of getting through 100 books. His parents streamed the process on Facebook as thousands of viewers encouraged him to reach his goal.
Sylus Green, Caleb’s father said, “I was like, 100, son? That’s a lot of books. So at first, I had the gut reaction to talk him down a little bit but he was like, ‘No, I want to read 100.”
When Caleb first introduced the idea to his parents they began to search through the books on their bookshelves. They came up a little short of 100 books, but luckily friends dropped by to contribute to Caleb’s goal.
Caleb’s dad went on to say, “I learned to just dream bigger and I am going to set unrealistic goals for myself this coming year and I’m going to be inspired by Caleb to not quit on him and just push through it.”
As for Caleb’s future, he said, “I want to be a basketball player. When I am 22 I want to be an astronaut and when I’m 23 I want to be a Ninja Turtle!”
