#TSRPositiveImages: Earlier this week, a homeless man placed an order at a #BuffaloWildWings in #LakeCharles, LA. Unfortunately, when he received his food, he noticed that the receipt had a very nasty and rude message written on it. “For Homeless F*ck! Let sit + get gross,” it read. On another part of the receipt, “I love you” was written.
That’s when he showed the messages to other customers and 26-year-old Kailynn Weston came to his defense.
“I was just really upset about it, like, why would you do that, especially, and he said, ‘You all know that I’m homeless; I don’t have anywhere to live,’ and it just really upset me,” Weston told KPLC-TV. “And I was like, ‘That’s not OK, one, for someone to treat a customer like that, let alone a customer in his condition.”
Weston went up to the manager and demanded that swift action be taken or else they could kiss her business good-bye! “I walked up to the manager and I said, ‘This isn’t right and I demand that she get fired or something happen because I won’t come here anymore, for sure, and I’ll let other people know not to come here anymore, because it’s not OK,’” she said.
Regional Manager Ray Rhodes finally shared that the employees involved would be terminated after Monday. He also said that the restaurant will be giving the unidentified man free wings for a year and will donate a “couple hundred wings” to a local homeless shelter. The company is also getting him a hotel room and a gift card to Walmart so that he can get some clothes.
“It’s embarrassing for this gentleman and it’s very inhumane on the part of the employees,” Rhodes said in a statement. “It’s not our culture and it’s not who we are.”
