Jennifer Lopez Lands A Role In The Live Television Adaptation Of ‘Bye Bye Birdie’

When it comes to getting that coin, Jennifer Lopez definitely stays booked.

According to The New York Times, Lopez will star in the live musical “Bye Bye Birdie,” which is expected to air in December 2017. NBC made the official announcement on Thursday, as she is set to play the role of Rosie.

The production comes after the other successful live performances of, “The Wiz,” “The Sound of Music,” and “Peter Pan.” This year’s show is “Hairspray Live,” which stars Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande.

Lopez will also serve as an executive producer for the production.

The chairman of NBC Entertainment said, “To have a superstar like Jennifer Lopez starring in this classic show, which every high school in America has done, will ensure that our holiday musicals continue to be must-see events for the whole family. It was her idea to take on this classic singing and dancing role made famous by the legendary Chita Rivera, and we are so happy to oblige!”

J.Lo has been performing a rendition of “A Lot Of Livin” from “Bye Bye Birdie” during her Las Vegas residency.
