Kandi Burruss Explains Why She Decided Not To Record New Music With Xscape—’I Don’t Want To Mess With Our Legacy’

Now that “The Great Xscape” Tour has officially come to an end, LaTocha, Tamika, and Tiny have already started releasing new music, while Kandi Burruss has been killing it on Broadway in “Chicago” as Mama Morton.

Recently Kandi sat down with Madame Noire and revealed why she decided not to join the ladies as they embarked on their journey of releasing new music.

She mentioned that at the beginning of their reconciliation she told her group members that she didn’t want to do new music. “I don’t want to mess with our legacy,” she said. “When we were a group we had three platinum albums. All of our albums were hits, we never had a flop album and things aren’t how they used to be back then.”

She continued, “Record’s are not selling like they used to back then. I don’t want to put out an album and it does not be on that same level.”

Kandi also mentioned that they are four different individuals with their own creative ideas that may sometimes clash.
