Mariah Carey Being Sued For $3 Million Over Defamation Claims & Canceled Shows

Back in October 2016, #MariahCarey was scheduled to perform two shows in Argentina and Chile, but they were canceled. She ended up suing the promoters for failure to pay her in full and blamed them for damaging her brand after being forced to cancel the show’s.

The singer later tweeted to her fans that she was devastated that the shows were canceled and that they “deserve better than some of these promoters treated them.”

Now, that last little comment is about to cost Mimi $3 million, y’all. The promoters, FEG Entretenimientos S.A., are accusing her of a no-show without any prior notice and are seeking $500,000 in damages per show that she missed. These people are also running Mariah’s pockets for at least another $2 million for defamation.

Per documents obtained by @Blast, FEG called Mariah’s tweet about them “knowingly false and defamatory.” They say it caused “irreparable damage” to their “reputation among both concertgoers and musical artists.”

Mariah better go call Stella ????
