North Carolina Lottery Winner Is Allegedly Being Sued By Her Pastor For $10 Million

Another one bites the dust… Remember Marie Holmes? The woman from North Carolina who won the lotto back in February, well catch this tea, she may be getting sued for $10 million for verbal promises made to her pastor!

If you don’t remember Holmes, she’s the lucky winner who won the $127 million power ball last year, and spent most of that money bailing out her boyfriend/baby father, Lamar “Hot Sauce” McDow, out of prison consistently. Now according to Black America Web, her pastor, Kevin Matthews, is apparently suffering “emotional distress and mental stress” after she started denying having any conversations with him about building a new retreat facility for their church. “I had to start taking more medicine for anxiety and depression due to this situation,” said Pastor Kevin Matthews.

Holmes attorney, Ruth Sheehan of The Francis Law Firm, said his client was unaware of the lawsuit and the situation.

According to Black America, Matthew met with Holmes at her house on several occasions to discuss the matter and even gave her options as to what he hoped would help the community and their church in the future. The options were: $1 million, $1.5 million or $2 million, and Holmes agreed to pay him $1.5 million.

Matthews has been praying for such a change like this to come and obviously came to Holmes because the church as whole lacked in funding for it. Even in an interview with EURweb, Matthews said in regards to Holmes, “God led him to her house and he prayed with her.”

Let’s see if actions speak louder than words.
