Roommates, we are sending our prayers to the family of Aretha Franklin, after reports revealed that the legendary singer has passed away.
According to TMZ, she passed in her Detroit home where she was under hospice care. Her health has been declining and recently it was reported that she was gravely ill.
Aretha was surrounded by family and friends when she passed away. Her family said in a statement, “In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart. We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family.”
The Queen of Soul leaves behind a legacy of classic hits.
