#TSRAthletes: Zakiya Randall Is 1st & Youngest Black Woman To Win A U.S. Golf Open

#Roommates meet Zakiya “Z” Randall, she’s the first and youngest African American female in history to win 1st place in the LPGA Women’s U.S. Open Qualifier and she’s serving all types of #BlackGirlMagic!

Raised by a single parent, Zakiya says she was inspired to become a pro-golfer after watching Tiger Woods and young female phenoms like Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel.

She started playing golf at the age of 10 and at 17 became the first woman in Georgia to win the Golf Channel Am Tour, where she defeated some of the best male amateur golfers on the field.

Zakiya, who is now 26, is also a humanitarian and public speaker.

She told Impulse Magazine’s Meko Cox that her mom is “my true idol and inspiration,” with Oprah being second and Michael Jordan third.
