1501 Certified Entertainment Sues Megan Thee Stallion

1501 Certified Entertainment Sues Megan Thee Stallion Over Release Of ‘Something For Thee Hotties’ Album, Claims She Owes The Label More Money

The battle isn’t over just yet! Carl Crawford and his record label 1501 Certified Entertainment are suing Megan Thee Stallion over her latest album, “Something for Thee Hotties.” Carl claims the album, which would have fulfilled her contract, isn’t really an “album” because it includes unreleased songs, according to TMZ. 1501 is countersuing Megan’s lawsuit, claiming that the album does not have new material and that she owes the label more recordings and money.

If you recall, Megan sued 1501 back in February to declare the record fulfilled her contract. According to docs, the label says the album is “made up of 21 recordings and includes spoken interlude recordings on which Megan does not appear and several previously-released recordings.” Carl isn’t backing down and claims Megan is well aware that any album she makes must include at least 12 “new master recordings of studio performances” of previously unreleased music.

On top of that, Carl has to have the final approval of the music, which he says didn’t happen for her latest album. 1501 Certified Entertainment also wants the judge to declare “Something for Thee Hotties” was not an actual album. Additionally, Carl is requesting a full accounting of Megan’s proceeds from collaborations, sponsorships, endorsements, and side engagements. Reports show that the H-Town Hottie would owe the label a portion exceeding $1 million.

Megan’s attorney Brad Hancock released a statement on her behalf stating, “This is yet another absurd attempt by 1501 to disregard Megan’s album and squeeze more money and more free work out of her for as long as possible. We will ask the court to protect Megan from this type of abuse.”

The TSU graduate clapped back again Carl in a series of tweets. It’s unclear when a judge will decide in Megan’s suit against Carl, but we will keep you posted as more info becomes available!
