It’s official; Tupac’s story is finally going to be told and it’s coming to the big screen! ‘All Eyez On Me’ began production back in December, in Atlanta Georgia. The movie is supposed to portray Tupac’s legacy and tell the story of his life from beginning to end.
News has been swirling about the biopic, from the production contracts, to who will be taking on the role of the late Tupac Shakur, and also who would be taking the role of direction for the film. While, some spectators thought Marcc Rose (the actor who played the role of Tupac in N.W.A.’s biopic) was going to play Tupac, the casting for the film has took a drastic change!
Actor, Demetrius Shipp Jr. has been casted for the role of Tupac and it has just been reported that Vampire Diaries star, Kat Graham has been added to the cast of the highly anticipated film. Reports say that Jada and Tupac were high school classmates when they attended school together in Baltimore, Maryland and even after graduation, the two remained friends. Some say the two were sort of an “item” as well.
Someone else that has been added to the cast is Walking Dead star, Danai Gurira! She will be taking the role of Tupac’s mother. In the film she will be portrayed as a political activist, a member of the Blank Panther, and also special details will be revealed on how Afeni Shakur provided Tupac with the guidance of his development as an artist and a man.
Benny Boom will the director of the film while Tupac’s actual mother will be the executive producer. No word for when the film will be set to release, but, I’m sure with Benny Boom behind the camera and with Ms. Shakur helping tell her son’s story in depth, I’m sure it will be well worth the wait!
