We all know that the crowning of the current Miss Universe had to be one of the most embarrassing moments in television history to date! Since then Steve Harvey has faced tons of backlash and has even become the butt of a lot of jokes! The television host has already tried to clean up the mess he’s made but has now taken it a step further by inviting both Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach and Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo to his show!
In a two-part special called, Miss Universe: The Truth, Harvey meets with both women for the first time since the pageant to apologize and to also see what was going through their minds as the mess was unfolding!
In the preview Harvey asked Miss Philippines her feelings the moment she stood next to Miss Colombia and she responded, “I tried to keep a safe distance from her as not to disrespect her because I didn’t want her to feel bad. I was being sensitive to her feelings. So when I was standing there I was very happy that I won, I was excited. But I was also thinking about her and I couldn’t help but think how tough this must be for her.”
Harvey also got sentimental as he talked about the guilt he felt after his mistake and although he didn’t want to go back out on stage, he knew he needed to do the right thing and announce the correct winner. He also credited his wife Marjorie for sticking by his side and going through the hole of scrutiny with him.
Miss Universe: The Truth airs on January 18th & 19th, his sit down with Miss Universe will air on the 18th and his sit down with Miss Colombia will air on the 19th.
