Timbaland is in the hot seat following his refusal to perform at a charity show in Detroit for Flint residents affected by the Water crisis. But guess why he allegedly decided last minute to not perform? The club served the wrong brand of champagne.

NYDailyNews reports that Timbaland committed to perform at Club Bleu in Detroit, Michigan and although he did show up and pulled in more than $3K to go toward clean water, he backed out because apparently the champagne the club supplied for him and his entourage was not what they wanted.
They received Dom Perignon in lieu of Ace of Spades only because Club Bleu did not carry that brand of champagne. But it’s reported that they still had a plethora of other liquors delivered to their section, including two bottles of Patron, three bottles of Ciroc, two bottles of D’usse and one bottle of Disaronno Originale Italian Liqueur.
“They had about 15 bottles of liquor and champagne, which is extremely excessive especially for a charity event,” the club’s co-owner, Mitchell Jaworski told the Daily News. “They seemed more concerned about getting every drop of liquor.”
Apparently, Timbaland signed the contract two weeks prior to the show and received his full payment at the time that he signed the contract. In his contract, he agreed to DJ a half hour set and perform five to eight songs before a crowd of about 300 concert-goers.
When it was time for him to follow through with his promises, he hit the stage around 1AM and didn’t do anything! He “just stood there.”
“His management (took) classlessness to a new level when they said Timbaland did ‘not feel like’ performing,” Jaworski claimed. “They then insisted that we show them the signed contract for the night and where the stipulation was for the ‘live’ performance. Finally management relented and literally had to wake Timbaland up so he could proceed to stand behind the decks and nod his head for 30 minutes.”
To add insult to injury, Timbaland allegedly refused to speak with club employees after his episode and was gone by 2AM.
He was also supposed to perform at another benefit show in Pittsburgh, Pa. At CAVO Wednesday night but, again, was stubborn and refused to perform as promised in his contract.
“The show was a joke,” Ed Kalchthaler wrote on CAVO’s Facebook page. “He didn’t do anything but just stand there and drink champagne.”
Timbaland’s management has yet to offer a statement following his behaviors.
