It is no secret that MVP, Steph Curry has been scoring points left and right for the Golden State Warriors, but it seems as though that’s not all he’s defeating, because according to Complex his sneaker collection with Under Armour is scoring numbers too!
The American sports label has had a 95% profit increase since 2015, thanks to Curry’s basketball shoe line… which makes their sales levels jump to $1.17 billion!
As we all adore LeBron James and his record breaking numbers as well, he’s a little shy on making profits rise with his his shoe collection under Nike. Complex is noting that Quartz, a financial firm has on file (projected in 2016) that LeBron is making only $150 million under his basketball shoe label and Curry has made $160 million.
And just to add on another valuable player planning for retirement from the NBA, Kobe Bryant’s Nike collection is only making $18 million!
“UA’s signature Stephen Curry basketball shoe U.S. business is already bigger than LeBron, Kobe and every other player except Michael Jordan,” said Morgan Stanley from Quartz.
One of the main reasons Curry’s UA shoe line is doing so well is because their not as pricey as Lebron James shoes and many others. His Under Armour 2 collection runs about $130, when, for example, the Nike LeBron 13’s cost $200.
Fresh face Curry will most likely continue on top for a while since he is one of the most notable players in the NBA right now!
