Looks like Black Twitter isn’t too happy with Snapchat’s latest choice of filter in celebration of 4/20. The app decided to use a Bob Marley face filter which fans are calling blatant digital black facing.
People are not only upset with the blackface filter but they also argue that Snapchat is only reducing the late musician’s actual contributions to cultural in general.

Well the popular app clapped back at the critics saying that the Marley estate actually gave them the go ahead for the filter
The lens we launched today was created in partnership with the Bob Marley Estate, and gives people a new way to share their appreciation for Bob Marley and his music,”a SC rep said to Gawker. “Millions of Snapchatters have enjoyed Bob Marley’s music, and we respect his life and achievements.”
