Another unarmed African American male was shot by police today in Miami, Florida. The victim, Charles Kinsey, a therapist, was trying to calm his autistic patient down when he was approached by police.
According to USUncut, police had received a call about a man with a gun threatening to commit suicide, referring to the autistic boy.
Charles tried to talk to the officers in the video, while they had their guns drawn on him.
When I went to the ground, I went to the ground with my hands up, Kinsey said, and I am laying there just like this. Telling them again there is no need for firearms. He is autistic. He has a toy truck in his hand.
Police ended up shooting Charles and he just doesn’t know why.
I thought it was a mosquito bite, and when it hit me I had my hands in the air, and Im thinking I just got shot! Kinsey said. And Im saying, Sir, why did you shoot me? and his words to me were, I dont know.
#Roommates Charles said he was treated badly after he was shot and was handcuffed and left bleeding before he got any type of help.
I was really more worried about him than myself. I was thinking as long as I have my hands up, Kinsey said, theyre not going to shoot me. This is what Im thinking, theyre not going to shoot me. Wow, was I wrong.
