Troy Ave To Sue Irving Plaza And Live Nation For Deadly Concert Shooting

Word on the street is Troy Ave is planning to sue Irving Plaza and Live Nation for the fatal shooting that took place back in May during T.I’s concert.

According to Pix 11 NY, the Brooklyn rapper is filing a lawsuit claiming that Irving Plaza’s security team allowed guns at the venue putting its visitors at risk. The lawsuit basically argues that if there were better security measures in place the shooting would have never happenedĀ and his friend/body guard would still be alive.

“Their lack of security led to him being shot,” a source on the rapper’s teamĀ said according to the Daily News.

Troy, whose real name is Roland Collins, has been reportedly uncooperative with police but still maintains his innocence on the grounds of self defense. His attorneys argue that the younger rapper some how wrestled the gun away from the real gunman who killed his bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, before returning fire. TroyĀ is currently on $500,000 bond after being charged with second degree attempted murder.

He was arrested on May 26 while being treated for a gun shot wound to the leg he received some time during the shooting. No amount has been disclosed in the lawsuit but we will definitely keep you posted. Let’s chat below!
