Roommates, this Sunday marks the 32nd Video Music Awards aka: the VMAs, and good girl gone bad Rihanna, will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award!
She’s been in the game for over 11 years and has produced hit after hit, so what better way to make people acknowledge her greatness? The #RihannaNavy is patiently waiting to see what’s in store for them this Sunday and the show’s executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, spilled a little tea regarding what we all should expect!
“I’m really excited because she’s taken this opportunity to inject her own creativity into it,” Ignjatovic tells Entertainment Weekly. “If we’re talking on Monday the 29th or after the show Sunday, everyone will be surprised with what she’s done to make this honor her own and something that’s extremely impactful.”
Rih’s performance will include “the biggest tracks of her career” as well as songs from Anti which is fitting, because we should be expecting something totally different than past Vanguard performances. It just goes along with her “anti-” theme. “I can tell you it’s going to be one of those holy crap VMA moments,” he continued. “She’s not playing. She’s bringing it.”
Also performing this Sunday is Britney Spears as she makes an epic return to the VMA stage. There are even rumors that Beyoncé is performing, but either way, this Sunday’s show is about to be everything! Who are you most excited to see perform, Roommates?
