It seems like President Donnie has been hard at work for his first 100 days in office but he’s still not too busy to make sure building his Mexican wall gets top priority.
Trump sat down with ABC’s David Muir for his first interview since being officially sworn into office to discuss his plans moving forward but they do seem a bit sketchy, though. He explains that U.S. taxpayers will pay for the wall but Mexico will reimburse the government for it somehow.
“All it is, is we’ll be reimbursed at a later date from whatever transaction we make from Mexico,” he said. “I’m just telling you there will be a payment. It will be in a form, perhaps a complicated form. What I’m doing is good for the United States. It’s also going to be good for Mexico. We want to have a very stable, very solid Mexico.”
Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox has slammed Trump on Twitter for the wall and denied that the country would be paying it, however Donald Trump insists that they will and he’s “100 percent” sure.
As for how soon construction would begin, the president said that it could be within months. “As soon as we can, as soon as we can physically do it,” he said. “I would say in months, yeah. I would say in months — certainly planning is starting immediately.”
