It has been reported that Eric Garner’s mother and Al Sharpton’s daughter were both arrested while protesting outside of the Trump Towers in NYC yesterday.
According to the NY Daily News, Garner’s mother Gwen Carr and Sharpton’s youngest daughter Ashley were both detained by police amongst other protestors who’s children had been affected by police brutality.
“In an act of civil disobedience and in the tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Eric Garner’s mom and others were arrested tonight…over President Trump’s SCOTUS nominee Neil Gorsuch,” Sharpton’s longtime spokeswoman, Rachel Noerdlinger, explained in a statement.
As for now, there are no reports of any pending charges.
Carr’s son, Eric Garner, died back in 2014 when police placed him in a fatal chokehold. She has yet to get justice.
