Fellas, it’s that time of year again! The day for men to show how broke they are willing to get for the main chicks ( and some side chicks) in your lives. Valentine’s Day!!!
Now, you may’ve not gotten it right last year or may be falling behind on gift shopping this time around… no worries! We have a list ( in no particular order because all of them pretty much share the same priority) for all of the things you should know not to get her at least!
1. Nothing:
There should be no reason why your girl gets absolutely nothing for Valentine’s Day! No, we’re not asking you to go out and spend massive coinage for the special day, but c’mon it’s 2017! You should be able to find something creative to give her, something that shows that you listen and that you care.
2. Gym Membership
Hold up… you calling her fat!? All I’m going to say is make sure your V-Day gift doesn’t make you catch these hands!
3. Food She Normally Eats
Unless the restaurant you’re about to take her to is going to provide an experience she will never forget, I say ditch the regular restaurant scene. You can even cook for her if it’s something that you’ve never done.
4. Stuffed Animals
We still doing this? How old are we? It’s cute for maybe the first or second V day spent together but please get more creative with your gifts!
5. Gift Card
Unless it’s going to be a nice shopping spree at her favorite “luxury” not everyday stores (unless she really loves the brand or store) leave the gift cards for a regular “just because” day
6. Long term service/product subscriptions
Unless you want to be left on the hook for the monthly bills possibly even after a breakup, I’d say it’s a no for me dawg.
7. Plan B
Yes, Valentine’s Day is the designated day for love making so if you know what’s good for you WRAP IT UP! It would be hella awkward in the morning have to explain why you had to slip an oral contraceptive into her morning coffee because of the misfire from the night before!
8. Regifted Items
You bought your ex an expensive bag and now that you’re no longer together it doesn’t give you the right to try to push it off to your new girl because you don’t know what to do with it! Sell that baby and use the money to get your girl something even nicer.
9. Lingerie
Okay, this one is mainly for my new couples. If your know your girl’s freak factor matches yours, than by all means go g-string crazy. BUT, if you have a girl who isn’t as sexually open or isn’t as comfortable with her body in front of you yet, I’d say buy her some clothes with a little more fabric to ’em.
10. Matching Clothes Say “She’s Mine” … or any other corny possessive stuff
Just no..
11. Cheap Perfume Sets
If you’re going the perfume route, start off with finding her perfumes that she loves and is almost finished or done already. Also go with something that you would love to smell her in. Some perfumes can be pricey but please no CVS or Rite Aid items… you can get your cards from there.
12. A “friendship/promise” ring
This is for my older couples or the couples who have been together for a while. Nothing hurts a girl more than to receive a ring that’s not meant to Que the wedding bells. It’s just wrong!
13. A third wheel
Guys, leave your friends at home! I don’t care if Daquan has been holding now Valentine’s Day for you for years! Once you get a girlfriend, all the extra friends gotta for V-day!
14. A Broken Heart
Try to make this day as special as possible. No baby mommas, side chicks or old flings should ruin this day! But if you truly can’t stand her than try to break up with her before Valentine’s to at least give yourself and her time to figure out new plans unless she messed with your or best friend… then it ain’t nothing to cut that b*** off!
