Yesterday marked the 10-year-anniversary of Britney Spears’ infamous meltdown and in honor of it, the umbrella she used to attack a cameraman is going up for sale!
According to Broadly, Photographer Daniel Ramos, the paparazzo who was attacked, plans to sell the green umbrella to the highest bidder and donate half of the profits to a charity of the singer’s choice.
The attack made headlines back in 2007, when the “Oops, I Did It Again” pop star was caught going off on Ramos and his car with an umbrella at a gas station. She was seen sporting her fresh new haircut after she shaved her own head at an LA salon, apparently over her nasty custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, causing paparazzi to swarm.
Spears could be seen yelling “F*ck you” to Ramos before savagely hitting his car with the green umbrella before dropping it and speeding off the scene.
“It was a bad moment in her life,” said Ramos. “Unfortunately it was captured.”
A few months later in 2007, Spears wrote on her website: “I apologize to the pap for a stunt that was done 4 months ago regarding an umbrella. I was preparing my character for a role in a movie where the husband never plays his part so they switch places accidentally. I take all my roles very seriously and got a little carried away. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the part.”
