2Chainz Clarifies That His Atlanta Restaurant Will Not Be Open For Dine-In Service Amid Georgia’s Partial Reopening

Roommates, many were shocked when reports surfaced that 2Chainz would be officially opening the doors of his Atlanta restaurant for dine-in service as Georgia partially reopens for business. Well now, he has stepped up to set the record straight—and says that news of his restaurant reopening were completely false.

As we previously reported via TMZ, 2Chainz’s business partner, Snoop Dillard, eportedly said that “Both of 2 Chainz’s joints, Escobar Restaurant and Tapas, are serving dine-in meals starting Monday and they’re making public safety a top priority.” Also staff would reportedly have their temperatures checked, when they clock in, mandatory gloves for all employees, and masks for the cooks and single-use paper menus. In addition, any staff member showing signs of COVID-19 would be sent home.

Dillard also reportedly added that customers would also be able to enjoy the use of hookahs, as they’ll be available and would be cleaned and sanitized frequently—and said, “they’re planning to bring back 65% of restaurant staff — 80 people — and the hope is to have everyone back at work eventually.”

Well the backlash was immediate for 2Chainz, with many calling him out on social media for not putting the health and safety of Atlanta residents before the desire to make money—even as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in Georgia.

He spoke with local news outlet CBS 46 and clarified that the initial reports of his restaurant opening were not accurate and that he has no current plans for a reopening at this time.
