Life comes at you fast sometimes #Roommates, but I don’t think it came fast enough for Ohio state representative #WesGoodman (no pun intended).
Goodman, who is married to a woman, has long since been known to be “pro-natural marriage.” Per his campaign website, which has since been powered down, he believes that “The ideals of a loving father and mother” are “well worth pursuing and protecting.” This didn’t stop him from creeping with an unidentified man, doeee.
According to the #ColumbusDispatch, a witness reported seeing what has been described as “inappropriate conduct” to Ohio House chief of staff Mike Dittoe. Goodman met with House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger where he confirmed the incident.
“I was alerted to details yesterday afternoon regarding his involvement in inappropriate behavior related to his state office,” Rosenberger said Wednesday. “It became clear that his resignation was the most appropriate course of action for him, his family, the constituents of the 87th House District and this institution.”
In a statement, Goodman expressed his regret for letting his peers down.
“We all bring our own struggles and our own trials into public life. That has been true for me, and I sincerely regret that my actions and choices have kept me from serving my constituents and our state in a way that reflects the best ideals of public service,” he said. “For those whom I have let down, I’m sorry. As I move onto the next chapter of my life, I sincerely ask for privacy for myself, my family, and my friends.”
No harassment complaints of any kind have been filed against Goodman.
