On August 21st, Aiden was reportedly crossing the street to the bus stop. This, when, “out of nowhere,” a truck struck him, says his brother A’mir Ransom. Per Carter, the impact had so much force that Aiden was “thrown and knocked unconscious.”

A neighbor had heard the collision and ran outside and performed CPR on the 7-year-old. When he was taken into the ambulance, Aiden couldn’t even remember his brother’s name, per A’mir.

“It was the worst news of my life,” Aiden’s dad, Trayvon Ransom, told Carter. “[And] they had sent the driver off right away.”

Additionally, Trayvon disclosed that the driver’s car was not towed and that they were apparently able to drive away from the scene. Furthermore, Trayvon explained that the case was ultimately closed and they “weren’t even able to talk to anybody about it.”

“And this is the thing, everybody catches the bus by themselves,” Trayvon explained. “But me, I actually was always there. I just had to leave 10 minutes early [that day]. [But] if I thought something like that was going to happen to him, I would have never left.”

Lastly, Carter details the steps the family is taking to retrieve justice.
