Looks like the world doesn’t want Lee Daniels to be great at all because he just got slapped with another lawsuit! Funny thing is this time the suit is coming from international actor, Sean Penn!
That’s right! According to CNN, Penn is suing Daniels for defamation, by wrongfully accusing him of abusing women in his past.
Daniels once stated to the Hollywood Reporter “That poor boy ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f*ucking demon. That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right here in America. ”
Daniels statement was in defense of “Empire’s” main cast member, Terrence Howard who blatantly admitted that he used to abuse his first wife, Lori McCommas as a way to apologize for his wrongful actions which Howard opened up about in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone.
Howard states in his Rolling Stone interview: ”She was talking to me real strong, and I lost my mind and slapped her in front of the kids. Her lawyer said it was a closed fist, but even slapping her was wrong.”
The lawsuit, which was filed on Sept. 22 in NY, states that Penn never once mentioned any actions of abuse to any of his wives as one of his previous wives happened to be the on-going artist/icon, Madonna.
Penn briefly makes a remark on behalf of Daniels statement the day before the 2015 Emmy Awards saying that he believes Daniels is wrong to bring him into a negative light and thinks that Daniels did this only to bring a more positive outlook to Howard in order to keep ratings high for the upcoming new season of “Empire.”
The last statement made by Penn’s attorney put’s both Howard and Daniels to shame in order to protect his image. ”Third, and most problematic, Daniels falsely equates Penn with Howard, even though, while he has certainly had several brushes with the law, Penn (unlike Howard) has never been arrested, much less convicted, for domestic violence, as his ex-wives (including Madonna) would confirm and attest.”
Penn has been accused of abusing his women in his past, but no factual evidence or law suits were filed against him to prove it! Penn is seeking a whopping $10million in damages to teach Lee Daniels a lesson! Lord! Let’s chat below, is Penn doing too much?
