When we learned that Nene wasn’t going to be a regular on season 8 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, we thought, “Oh, no! How is this going to be RHOA without Nene?!” That didn’t stop one of her cast mates, Kenya, from moving on without her though. She dubbed herself the new queen of season 8, but she spoke too soon, seeing as Nene will be back for “the real premiere” as she says! As we patiently await her triumphant, yet short return to Real Housewives tonight, check out this list of reasons why despite her hiatus, she’s still queen of the RHOA franchise!
5.) She’s actually married.
It seems as though being married is not a prerequisite for being a REAL housewife, but not on my watch. If anything, this is the major reason as to why Kenya cannot be queen of RHOA…she’s not a wife! Yes, Nene and Gregg split briefly, but that was just to teach her man a lesson which was never to cross her! I think he’s got the memo.
4.) Despite all of the chaos, Miss NayNay keeps her cool.
“I felt like season 7 was really hard. I felt like there were times I felt really ganged up on.” She continued, “I can handle myself. It’s not cool, it’s not fair for everybody to come at you at once and everybody trying to make you appear to be something that you’re not.”
3.) She’s able to forgive and forget…sorta.
Nene is one of those sistahs who will certainly forgive you for whatever you’ve done, but she’ll never forget it. I’m curious to see what she’ll have to say tonight when Cynthia asks about being blocked from her Twitter. But, look at the turn-around she’s had with Kim and now Claudia Jordan! She Instagrammed a picture of the two of them being cordial at lunch this week!
2.) Nene’s been on Broadway!
“I love Broadway,” she told The View. “This time last year, I was on Cinderella, and now I’m on Chicago as Mama Morton. I have two songs. I’m doing a solo and a duet, so I am trying to stay well. I love Broadway. The schedule is tough – it’s a very tough schedule – but I love it.” Now, what other housewives are seeing the resume that Nene has built in a year’s time? *crickets* That was an amazing opportunity for Nene and she killed it!

1.) She’s rich, bihh!!
Nene has found so much success as she’s branded herself over the years and really found her niche. “Housewives has been very good to me. The platform has been amazing. It’s opened up many doors and opportunities for me, as you can see. And lots of girls would like to imitate the NeNe Leakes brand.” There’s a reason why she proclaims that she’s rich– she’s worked for everything she has and she’ll be damned if you try and take that from her!
