Baton Rouge Residents Say National Guard Hasn’t Rescued Some Residents From Rising Floodwaters

Hey, Roommates! Yesterday, we reported on the heavy rainfall that has left parts of Louisiana plagued with historic flooding. North Baton Rouge has been hit the worst and while many people have lost everything they have, some have even lost their lives.

With all of the chaos happening, there seems to be very little national news coverage about the floods which local residents claim has been an easy way for mainstream media to manipulate what is actually going on. Our sources are basically telling us that what national news outlets have reported on the floods is absolutely not true.

Not only are they downplaying the severity of the floods, they are claiming that the #NationalGuard is rescuing people from rising water levels, however our sources insist that it’s the residents helping each other. Here is what our Roommate Tammy M. told us:

“My friends and family have lost everything due to the raining and flooding in Louisiana. It’s like Katrina, but much much worse. What they’re reporting on the news is no where near as bad as it really is. Despite what’s being reported on the news, the National Guard hasn’t rescued anybody–it’s been other civilians.”

As for right now, Governor Beal is desperately trying to restore order in the state. We will keep you posted, but in the mean time, there is a GoFundMe link below created to raise funds in order to pay for housing for displaced residents. Please keep all of these people in your thoughts and prayers!
