Wait a minute, roommates! It looks like Toya Johnson and her husband, Robert Rushing Jr., are responding to family drama with a lil’ humor. Over the weekend, Toya’s brother, Walter, caused some social media buzz after accusing his sister of not cutting checks to him or their other siblings. He claimed that the network paid Toya $1 million for her reality show, but she kept all the money despite having her family on the show.

Well, Robert Rushing saw an opening for a jokey joke and took it! He took to social media to mock Walter’s viral video, and Toya Johnson slid in his comment section to stir the pot some more! Let’s get into it, roommates!
Here’s What Walter Said About His Sister
As mentioned, Walter took to social media to blast Toya’s pockets. In a video reposted by Live Bitez, he said their family hadn’t seen any of the $1 million WE TV allegedly paid her for the show ‘Toya and Reginae.’ Walter said he and other family members were “being real” by appearing on the show, especially after losing two brothers.

For context, Toya and Walter’s siblings, Ryan Rudy and Joshua were shot to death in New Orleans on July 31, 2016, per The Advocate. In September of that year, a NOLA jury convicted a man named Antoine Edwards for the deaths. They found him guilty of two counts of second-degree murder, and a judge sentenced him to life in prison a few weeks later.
“…We trying to show these people where we come from and where we’re trying to go. How we didn’t let this sh*t break us, how we used it to become something. That’s what I went in on,” Walter said. Afterward, he seemed to slip into a rant about who was featured on the show and what was highlighted.
Toya & Robert Address Her Brother’s $1M Claims Like THIS
After peeping Walter’s allegations, Robert Rushing strapped on his petty boots and hopped in his car to mock his brother-in-law. In a video on his Instagram feed, Robert pretended to also be upset about the alleged money. His caption said:
“1 MILLION DOLLARS, AND I DIDN’T GET PAID!?!? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I’M DONE!!!! I NEED MY MONEY BY MONDAY OR I’M SUING #Toya&Reginae”
Meanwhile, in the video, he teased Walter’s claims, slipping in a few jabs about who got what.
“I’m not saying she didn’t pay me ’cause everyone got paid. I see the contracts, everybody got paid. That’s a fact, ain’t no ifs, and, buts about it. But how you get a $1 million dollars and you ain’t tell your husband because when I sat down and saw the contracts, y’all hit me with Red you did such a good job this season, we would love to pay you this but we can’t cause the budget is this,” Robert said in a fake upset tone. “So you playing in my face Toya, you’re playing in my face because those deposits don’t equal up to a million dollars, so you gotta be getting cash under the table…how the hell you make a $1 million and I make that show.”
Again, it was clearly a mocking of Walter’s allegations. Robert Rushing even took the extra step of also wearing a red hoodie for the foolery! Over 5,000 comments later, it seems like everyone peeped the joke. Toya Johnson also popped up in Robert’s comment section with an extra jokey joke.
“Sh*t I want my million too bae. Where the million at? 🤣🤣🤣,” Toya wrote.
