Hiphop has been taking some major L’s lately when it comes to paying homage to the great rappers that have paved the way for artists today. From Rich Homie Quan’s epic failure when he butchered Biggie lyrics at this year’s Hip Hop Honor Awards to now Lil Yachty confessing that he couldn’t name five Tupac or Biggie songs.
“[I] “honestly couldn’t name five songs from Tupac and Biggie,” he said in an interview with Billboard.
Lord have mercy! Well many Hip-hop fans and industry artists found the reality of the rapper’s ignorance disturbing. Anderson .Paak was amongst many others to react to Yachty’s statement.
Don't be cocky in the fact that you don't know anything about hip hop history. Real artists are students of the game first

Oop!!
Well according to Lil Yachty, his music is more on the “bubble-gum rap” side so maybe just maybe we should give him a break on the history lesson?
Well either way, he clapped back at his haters:

Or like I HAVE to know something.

Maybe the response was a blanket statement to all his critics but it seems pretty fitting for Anderson.
How are the #roommates feeling about Yachty’s statements?! Let’s chat!
