Met Gala 2025 was a VIBE, from celebrating Black style to celebrities understanding the assignment and Rihanna debuting baby bump #3. The red carpet keeps fans glued to the screen because it’s the only public access to the event. Even the media can’t get in. After stepping off the red carpet, celebs are supposed to put away their phones and stay off social media. Lucky for fans, a lil’ something slips through the cracks every year. That was the case on Monday (May 5). From the food to the entertainment and vibes, here’s a recap of fashion’s biggest night behind closed doors!

Usher & Stevie Wonder Perform At Temple Of Dendur Exhibit
From entertaining us to being entertained! Celebs got a chance to kick back and vibe to a live performance from two music icons, Stevie Wonder and Usher. And let’s make it clear that the piano was tuned, and the dancing shoes were on! The Met Museum shared video footage on Instagram late Monday.
One clip shows Usher putting on a full production! He stayed on brand with the ‘Tailored for You’ theme for himself and his dancers. Except that he wore white, and they pulled off black and colorful looks. Meanwhile, the lights were going as wild as the crowd, and Usher was tearing up the stage with his moves. Our boy even had some cherries on standby, which Sabrina Carpenter opened wide for, chile!
Meanwhile, Stevie also had the crowd rocking with his classics and legendary live piano skills. The tunes were perfect for the overall theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Megan Thee Stallion, Doechii & Angel Reese Rate Met Gala’s Food
This year, award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi was in charge of the Met Gala’s menu. Anna Wintour banned him from using garlic, onions, and chives out of personal dislike and the possibility of bad breath. For the cocktail hour, the chef prepared a few remixed gems from mini chopped cheeses, to cornbread topped with caviar, and curry chicken patties, per Vogue.
Megan Thee Stallion broke the no-cellphone rule to give her fans an inside look at the grand event. At one point, she, Doechii, and Angel Reese rated the apps while seated at the table. They were all here for the cornbread and white truffle lobster roll. Then, they tried vegan lox, which wasn’t a favorite. As for the chopped cheese, Doechii was not a fan! Keep watching the video below to see other angles of Megan’s “Hottie Cam,” including cameos from other celebs!
Meanwhile, Vogue reports that the dinner menu included a papaya piri piri salad, creole chicken, rice and peas, and hot sauce. As a side, the chef cooked BBQ collard greens with bacon and cornbread with honey curry butter. Finally, for a lil’ something sweet, guests got a “bodega special cosmic brownie.”
“All throughout the meal, there are different aspects of blackness throughout the world represented at the highest level,” Chef Kwame Onwuachi said, per Vogue.
