On Tuesday, July 1, PEOPLE published an exclusive report asserting that McClain and his love celebrated their twin girls with a baby shower on Saturday, June 28. Furthermore, the actor told the outlet they had an “amazing celebration with family and friends” in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Not only do we have each other, but we also have an entire village to help raise our beautiful babies together,” he told the outlet, noting that the celebration filled him and Charli “with so much joy.”
McClain went on to explain that Charli was super hands-on with “the design and event planning” of the shower. Ultimately, the couple landed on a bows and butterflies theme with a soft pink colorway. In addition, McClain noted his joy at a photo booth being present at the celebration. Lastly, he even shared a special game he and Charli B. planned for their attendees.
“Our families are musical, so we knew we had to play Nursery Karaoke,” he said. “Everyone truly loved the game and cried from genuine laughter.”

According to PEOPLE, McClain revealed he was expecting twin girls on April 1. In the weeks that followed, he returned to social media to share a photo of a sign that read “TWINS,” per The Shade Room. Furthermore, the sign was surrounded by blue and pink balloons, seemingly hinting as if it was a part of his and Charli’s gender reveal.
While speaking with PEOPLE, McClain reflected on the April Fool’s announcement.
“I’m such a jokester [and a] troller, and [I] love to keep people on their toes, so if you know me, then posting the big news on April Fools day was on brand for me,” he explained.
As for the new role he’s getting ready to take on, McClain is excited.
“The closer we get, the more I appreciate the incredible strength of women. [The ability] to carry children deserves greater recognition and admiration. Fatherhood feels like I’m preparing for a lifetime role. The amount of research and love being poured into me is overwhelming in the best way, reminding me that growth isn’t just for them, it’s for me too, ” he said. “I am most excited to be the first person to take my girls on a shopping spree.”
