Tattoos are a way celebs have often expressed their love, loyalty, or even their personality. But when relationships end or perspectives shift, those permanent marks can become painful reminders, y’all. In 2025, several stars made headlines by covering up or removing their tattoos, signaling major life changes. From heartbreak to new beginnings, here’s a look at five celebs who did a 180 on their ink this year.
Keyshia Cole
Keyshia Cole had the internet in a frenzy when she inked her boo Hunxho’s government name, “Ibrahim,” on her chest back in October 2024. Fans were immediately side-eyeing the move, calling it too soon. But Keyshia was all in… well, until their breakup hit in March. The ‘I Should’ve Cheated’ singer wasted no time covering that tattoo up in July on her Stories. But then, sis surprised us all and reconciled with her boo.
In fact, that same month, Hunxho pulled up to Keyshia’s concert in Atlanta, which immediately sparked online chatter. Chile, and just weeks later, they were posted up on social media all boo’d up. The tattoo, though, remains gone, which is interesting since Hxncho has since got the letters “KC” tatted on him. See Keyshia’s cover-up HERE!
Pete Davidson
Pete Davidson has been in the process of getting his tattoos removed for a while, and apparently, he still has a long way to go… and that’s word to Cassie. In an interview with Variety back in April, he revealed he’s getting 200 tattoos removed, y’all. The actor says his decision was sparked by having to look at the tats every day, which reminded him of a “sad person that was very unsure.”
“I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” he shared. “So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain.”
