A Tampa jury found Alicia Andrews guilty of manslaughter in the 2024 death of Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio. After an eight-day trial, the jury also found her not guilty of conspiracy to commit murder. Alicia Andrews Convicted of Manslaughter, Not First-Degree Murder
Alicia Andrews was found guilty of manslaughter rather than first-degree murder in the 2024 killing of Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones. According to FOX 13 News, prosecutors said Andrews and her boyfriend, Isaiah Chance, drove from Jacksonville to Tampa with three others to target Foolio as part of an ongoing gang dispute. Investigators said Andrews helped track and follow the rapper, and that the group used her phone and vehicle to avoid police detection.
However, Andrews’ defense attorneys argued she did not know the murder plot, claiming she was only accompanying her boyfriend, whom she described as controlling and abusive. Andrews is the first of five suspects charged in Foolio’s death to face trial. The four co-defendants, Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy, are scheduled to stand trial next year. Andrews is expected to be sentenced Dec. 8.
