Whew, chileeee! Brian McKnight is stirring the pot again while spilling on his marriage to his ex-wife Julie McKnight. In an exclusive interview, Brian breaks down their 13-year relationship and why they allegedly separated four times.

Brian McKnight Shares What Pushed His 13-Year Marriage With Julie To The Breaking Point
The singer kept it real during his interview with Anton Daniels, saying he and Julie were already heading for divorce because they separated within the first two years of their marriage. Even though they tried to patch things up, they ended up splitting again, not long after. From there, Brian really dropped a bomb, saying that he was torn because he was “never in love with Julie” and the kids they share “weren’t made from love either.” Brian has seven kids total. He shares two sons with Julie — Brian McKnight Jr. and Niko McKnight, who passed away in May after his battle with cancer.
“I said this before, and people got so mad. This obligation just because you lay with somebody it’s sort of an 18-year sentence of some kind, or beyond that, because it’s forever. There’s resentment there […] but at the same time you have these children.”
Additionally, Brian said he thinks his on-and-off relationship with Julie definitely affected their kids. He believes that if they “separated for good,” certain dynamics would’ve been better.
Brian & Julie Seemingly Trade Words On $8M Judgment
Brian talking about his marriage to Julie is just one of the many times the two have gone back and forth. In October, they seemingly traded shots after Brian claimed he won an $8 million judgment against her. As The Shade Room reported, he made the claim on Oct. 16, which also marked their late son Niko’s first heavenly birthday. Julie didn’t say much, but she did post a screenshot of their case filing on her IG Story and circled that the case is still “pending.”

Brian McKnight Jr. jumped in, too. He shared a video on Instagram saying he always tried to be the bigger person, but felt disappointed watching his dad celebrate online. “Who are you trying to hurt if it’s not me, and my mother, and my family?”
“I’ve tried, man. I’ve tried really, really hard. To not touch on s**t. To let it go. To be the bigger person. To be mature [… ] But the s**t going on with my dad right now, if y’all aren’t seeing what’s happening. If y’all aren’t seeing the fact that this is a very hurt, and a very emotionally unavailable and not-intelligent person that has still not being able to handle the death of his own mother. To decide to make certain posts on my late brother’s birthday?” Brian Jr. said.
