Mariah the Scientist doesn’t plan to rock a baby bump before a ring! The ‘Burning Blue’ singer recently clarified that she has certain conditions she’d like met before becoming a mommy. Her comments come a month after her boyfriend, Young Thug, sparked pregnancy speculations on social media.

Mariah The Scientist Wants Marriage THEN Family
Mariah spoke on the baby topic while chattin’ with Angie Martinez at Power 105.1’s first-ever Power Sessions concert, hosted on December 13. The Scientist was one of several artists who took the stage, including G Herbo and Cash Cobain.
Later, the singer told Angie that she wants to “settle down” within the next five years. However, there are strings attached to her plan—marriage and a continued career. “I want to be married,” Mariah the Scientist said. When Angie asked if “anybody got the memo,” the singer replied, “I hope so.”
“Listen that’s my plan. I can’t speak for everybody. That’s my plan, though. That’s what I’m doing.”
She confirmed that she wants a baby, but clarified that she comes from a smaller family with one sibling. That sibling is her sister, who is also her manager. Of their relationship, Mariah joked that they’re “too close.” She later said that she’s willing to start with one child and see how she manages before deciding on more. Before wrapping up the topic, Mariah the Scientist clarified again that she intends to be married before having children.
“I just want a commitment that doesn’t involve an obligation to a baby. I just want to be like out of love, not out of responsibility.”

Meanwhile, @thee_kittydoll_ didn’t even acknowledge Young Thug’s role as Mariah’s boyfriend. She wrote, “I really hope she lands a great man. She so sweet. She deserves a King that will delivers what she wants.”

Where Does Young Thug Stand On Marriage?
As mentioned, Mariah the Scientist is clearing the air on her motherhood conditions, weeks after Young Thug had fans searching for a baby bump. TMZ spoke to the rapper on Nov. 13, and when the publication asked whether him and Mariah were “rocking strong,” he replied “of course” and then claimed he “just put a baby in her.” That was the extent of the comment, but it was enough to fuel spicy and curious reactions. Mariah has yet to address his comment. For context, Thugger has six children, three sons and three daughters, with multiple women.
As for how Thugger feels about marriage, his past indicates he’d be open to it. He was once engaged to Jerrika Karlae, though they never made it to the alter (or courthouse). She reportedly ended the engagement in 2020.
In June, Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist sat for a GQ couple’s quiz. And while they talked about everything from their first date to their nighttime routines, marriage or plans to propose did not come up.
As of Tuesday (Dec. 16), Young Thug has not reacted to Mariah the Scientist’s thoughts on marriage before a baby. Instead, he popped online this week seemingly throwing shots at someone allegedly acting the victim.
