A Planet Fitness employee is reportedly recovering after an alleged gym member, Kiara Bryant, brutally attacked him in Miami, Florida.

Gym Attack Leaves Planet Fitness Employee With Alleged Injuries
According to the City of Miami Police Department, the incident occurred on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Planet Fitness on SW 8th Avenue in Miami. Investigators said 35-year-old Kiara Bryant was reportedly causing a scene in the locker room when a Planet Fitness employee told her to lower her voice. That allegedly set Kiara off causing her to start yelling at the male. The employee tried to push her in self-defense, but video footage shows Bryant leaping over the front desk and repeatedly punching him while he covered his face and didn’t fight back.
CBS News reports that the Planet Fitness employee’s attorney, Alecsander Kohn said their client suffered an alleged broken nose and is dealing with severe emotional distress since the incident. “She took things too far, brutally battered our client, and ultimately, left him in the hospital with a broken nose and severe emotional distress,” Kohn explained.
Planet Fitness Breaks Silence On Attack At Miami Location
After footage of the incident hit social media, Planet Fitness spoke out. The fitness center said the safety of its employees is top priority. Additionally, the spokesperson confirmed that Kiara Bryant’s member has been canceled.
“The safety of our employees and members is our top priority and we have zero tolerance for violence of any kind in our clubs. We are committed to providing a safe environment. The franchise group worked closely with local police and have cancelled the member in question.”

NBC Miami released Kiara Bryant’s mugshot, reporting that authorities accused her of misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct in an establishment. Officials set her bond at $150. So far, details about whether she has hired a lawyer or what the next steps will be for her are still unknown at this time.
