Akon Speaks On Polygamy & Faithfulness V. Commitment
During the conversation, Akon shared his thoughts on faithfulness versus commitment, and the ability of men to do either. Ultimately, he explained that he believes men can be faithful to the woman, or women, they love. But he finds that men are not wired to be committed.
“How many men do you know will fight for that one because of the mistake that they made with someone that didn’t matter to them? That’s faithfulness, that’s creating that energy to fight for it,” he said. “We’re going to be with multiple women, that’s who we are… otherwise, it wouldn’t be a coincidence that every single woman on this planet, if they have a problem with their spouse, it’s over another woman. Think about it! Every woman that has a problem with they man, it’s over another chick.”
He Gets Real About Gender Roles
Before the conversation concluded, the pair touched on gender roles. Akon shared that here in America, he believes the women “want to be men.” Then, in Africa, the women there live “the most amazing life” and only have a hard time when it comes to pregnancy.
“I think when it comes to women, there’s a certain level of respect that should be given to a man. The same way that a man should have a certain level of respect that he should give to a woman,” Akon explained.
